Unfortunately, we are currently far from achieving the government’s 2050 goals. Our current economic systems are still largely linear, meaning that raw materials are extracted, processed into products, and eventually discarded. This leads to significant waste and environmental issues, such as the depletion of natural resources and increasing waste piles.
One of our main goals is to improve the CO2 performance of pumping stations, and together with our partners, we strive to reuse pumping station components.
Sustainable collaboration
Our circular platform is the place where municipalities, water boards, and affiliated partners come together to find sustainable solutions and achieve the highest degree of circularity under central management. We share knowledge and exchange ideas, combine the expertise of our partners, and collaborate on sewage pumping station projects that push the boundaries of circularity.
10R ladder in practice
Depending on the technical condition of the components and current regulations, the possibilities for reuse vary per component. Additionally, there are numerous additional conditions that need to be determined, which is why we follow a circular roadmap. Using circular traffic lights, we determine which step of the 10R ladder can be achieved per product. Circogemaal focuses particularly on steps 3 to 9.
